Luxury Easter Eggs: Five of the Best

Do you remember those Easter eggs you used to get as a kid? Large cardboard boxes eagerly torn to shreds to reveal a glossy, foil-wrapped oval of overwhelmingly sweet, milky chocolate. Our levels of chocolate greed gave Augustus Gloop a serious run for his money.

Then we grew up and the inevitable happened; we started finding those branded eggs cloying and much too sweet. Oh to be a chocolate snob. So we searched high and low for Easter eggs that would satisfy our post-adolescent taste-buds but would still make our inner child chuckle with glee. Luckily for you hautties we found them! (more…)

Miami: 5 of the Best Places to Eat

We need a holiday. We bet you do too. March has arrived and with it the promise of spring and warmer days to come. But we’re impatient gals here at THL and we need some serious sunshine stat. So where would we go if we had the time off and the air miles? The sunshine state obviously! Sandy beaches, art deco vibes and cerulean skies. Just a few of the things we love about Miami. Gails Kitchen: You’ll want the whole menu

Gails Kitchen is the sit down restaurant from the Gails bakery chain you’ll all know and love if you live in London. It’s just off Tottenham Court Road inside the MyHotel and next door to one of these bakery chains – hidden behind a curtain and full of rustic wood tables and prints of library books. The Bloomsbury/Charlotte Street area has been bursting with foodie treats for a while and they are what is making Fitzrovia one of the most exciting areas of London right now.

We find ourselves regularly suggesting Gails Kitchen for any lunch date /after-work gathering – the emphasis is on great bread (obviously) and small dishes which are mainly vegetarian but with fantastic combinations of ingredients and flavours that don’t leave you missing the meat – every dish is delicious and you have to be quite strict to not order one of everything. The Haute List girls decided to go for an after work treat and left with giant food babies – so much so that we could barely fit the incredible dessert which was such a shame! So what did we eat???
